After Jesus death, two of His followers were walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus which was 7 miles from Jerusalem. They spoke of His death and suddenly a stranger began walking with them. God kept them from recognizing that the stranger walking with them was the risen Jesus! And then their eyes were opened! How awesome it is to behold when a person who never really thought about Jesus or the Scriptures eyes are opened and they can see what we see! How exciting it is for us to be able to share with others our love for Jesus and have their eyes opened to the wonders of His love! His love for us is truly amazing! Abba Father I pray that many eyes are open to the wonderful and matchless grace of Your Son, our Savior and King!! I praise You for who You are!!!
By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey, Jesus acted as if He were going on, but they begged him, “Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So He went home with them. As they sat down to eat, He took the bread and blessed it Then He broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened and they recognized Him. And at that moment He disappeared!
