If We Are The Body

A Happy New Year and God’s blessings to all!
In Jesus love! Dotti

What a great way to start the New Year! Be kind, encouraging, loving, giving and serve others with the love of Christ and be His light to the world, as He shines from within us! The apostle Paul gives an example of the human body to teach us how to live and work together. Just as the human body parts function under the direction of the brain, Christians are to work together under the authority of Jesus. God gives us gifts so we can build His church. We are to be faithful and seek ways to serve others with what gifts He has given us. Be thankful for people whose gifts are different than yours. Let your strengths balance to other’s weaknesses. Together we can build the church. Not a building – but the body of Christ! God calls us to be real and genuine (transparent) and to help others be the best they can be, showing them God’s love.

Romans 12:4-9
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong, hold tightly to what is good.
