The Day True Love Died. . .

They had returned to Bethlehem to be registered for the census, Joseph and Mary his wife and while they were there the days were completed for her to be delivered. The inn’s were full and they had no room to dwell in so were out in a stable with the livestock .

Luke 2:6

So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.

Fast forward for a moment to the day Jesus died. . . .

All nature mourned the day that “true love died”. The day that Jesus died four miraculous events happened. Complete darkness fell over the land for three hours in the middle of the day. This was verified not only in biblical writing but also by other historians of the day. In the temple separating the Holy Place where priests could enter and the Most Holy Place where only the high priest could enter only once per year to atone for the sins of the nation was a curtain or a veil. This veil was of great proportion and thickness. This veil was torn in two from top to bottom almost as if the temple was mourning Jesus’ death. An earthquake was felt across the land and the rocks split apart. The splitting of the rocks is described as almost something supernatural looking.  The bodies of the dead rose from the grave. It showed His victory over sin, satan, death, and the grave. Oh dear Abba, precious Abba – how hard it must have been to give Your Son up as a substitute for our sin. Your love for us is unmatched. While we are looking the events and happenings at His birth – I must remember the whole of it. His birth, death, and resurrection which He did with us on His mind. Powerful!!!

Matthew 27:45,51-53
At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until 3:00. At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead.  They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.

Be blessed in Him and walk in His strength!!
