Jesus spoke in parables. A parable is a story that Jesus used often to explain or illustrate a lesson to those who were listening to Him. There are many in the gospels. The meaning of the parable was hidden from those whose hearts were not right with the Lord such as the Pharisees. Often times this will happen in today’s world if someone is halfheartedly seeking things of God instead of seeking Him with their whole hearts. These two passages from the Old Testament are prophecies fulfilled in Jesus. There are so many prophecies that show us without a doubt that the baby born in the manger so many years ago is truly who He said He was. Abba Father thank You for revealing these prophecies to me and to give me ears to hear and understand the parables that Jesus told.
I will open my mouth in a parable, I will utter dark sayings of old which we have heard and known and our father’s have told us.
He said, “Go and tell this people: Be ever hearing, but never understanding, be ever seeing but never perceiving. Make the heart of this people calloused, make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn and be healed.
