The Greatest Story Ever Told.

More prophecy from the Old Testament today regarding the greatest story ever told!! The birth, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ. What would the story be without the prophecies of old??

Micah 5:2-5

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past. The people of Israel will be abandoned to their enemies until the woman in labor gives birth. Then at last His fellow countrymen will return from exile to their land.  And He will stand to lead His flock with the Lord’s strength in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God. Then His people will live there undisturbed, for He will be highly honored around the world.  And He will be the source of peace.

This passage from the book of Micah speaks of a ruler who will come from Bethlehem and whose origins are from the distant past. The Lord Jesus is the fulfillment of this prophecy because He was born in Bethlehem and He is the “ancient of days” and comes from everlasting as before the world was created. He was from the tribe of Judah and that differentiates it from another city named Bethlehem that was in the land of the tribe of Zebulon. The woman in labor speaks of Mary the earthly mother of Jesus. He is the Good Shepherd leading His flock of believers in the name of the Lord His God. God the Father. For He shall be highly honored and His Gospel message will be preached and spread all through the world. He is the author and the source of peace. He is the Prince of Peace and in John 14:27 in one of Jesus’ last talks with His disciples, He says:John 14:27
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
