FREEDOM TO FORGIVE

One of the ways the counterfeit church reveals itself as counterfeit is by their lack of love, indifference, and rebellion to reconcile with brothers and sisters in Christ. -Admin-

If you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. FIRST, BE RECONCILED TO YOUR BROTHER, and then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24 (NKJV)

The woman was always one of the first to walk through the church doors on Sunday morning and one of the last to leave. Despite her regular giving to God’s work, her consistent attendance, and service on various committees, there was an unmistakable coolness surrounding her. An incident that happened between her and her best friend fifteen years before left her bitter, resentful, and angry. Time was not a healer. Neither was distance. Thinking that both could begin again, her friend had move away, but that did not happen.

UNRESOLVED EMOTIONS filter into the cracks and crevices of our hearts, spilling over to those around us. Before we know it, they have not only stolen our joy, but also blocked our view of God.

Forgiveness is the only force strong enough to break the bondage of anger or any other unresolved emotion. Jesus knew that in order for us to enjoy our relationship freely with the heavenly Father, there would have to be forgiveness. It cost Him everything, but He paid the price.

Is there someone in your life you need to forgive today?
