Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29 (NKJV)
One of the reasons Jesus came to earth, apart from humankind’s need of salvation, was to correct our view of God. He came to change our perspective of our Father’s love. The disciples had tremendous freedom in His presence. They witnessed His miracles and felt secure whenever they were with Him.
After the Crucifixion, their view changed. Suddenly fear gripped their hearts. It was only at the sight of Jesus that their fears subsided. One of the greatest truths you can learn, in addition to God’s eternal, unconditional love for you, is that He will never leave you.
The freedom the disciples gained in the presence of the risen Lord is something you, too, can experience. Christ lives in you through the power of the Holy Spirit. Every need, every question you have, can be answered. He is available and longs for you to come to Him. What glorious freedom this brings! Someone is near who cares about your every struggle.
