Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15 (NKJV)
In occupied or totalitarian states, resistance movements commonly operate. However, they are usually small in number and vastly inferior to the dominant force. Their actions, while irritating, have little impact.
This is not the kind of opposition God asks of you when He commands you to resist the devil. You are to ENGAGE your spiritual adversary “firm in your faith” (1 Peter 5:9 NASB). The same spirit of triumph echoes from Paul, who urged you to “stand firm against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11 NASB) and “having done everything, to stand firm” (Ephesians 6:13 NASB).
“But I am no match for Satan,” you say. You are clearly right. Your solidity comes from your confidence in Christ, who routed Satan on the cross. Though your enemy still works, his hour of doom draws near.
