SNARES OF THE SCHEMER

And that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:26 (NKJV)

Many words are used to describe your archenemy, the devil: evil one, tempter, prince of this world, the god of this age, prince of the power of the air, and accuser of the brethren. Whatever his title, you know he works craftily to deceive both people and nations into believing his lies and doubting the truth of God’s Word. He deceives unbelievers by blinding them to the truth. Such comments as “The Bible really isn’t inspired,” and “How can the death of one man thousands of years ago affect my life today?” are just two of his distortions.

He deceives you, a Christian, by working in your mind to cause you to doubt or ignore the truth that is God’s Word. The mind is the battlefield, and deception is his primary weapon.

Jesus resisted the devil with GOD’s WORD. When you are tempted, the truth of the Bible is still your best defense. If you are under Satan’s assault, find the Scriptures that pertain to your battle. Memorize them, meditate on them, and use them against the devil. The truth of God defuses the lie of Satan every time.
