[Jesus Christ] whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. Acts 2:24 (NKJV)

Here is the essence of the crucified life—you can win over sin because you are joined inseparably to the Lord Jesus Christ who has conquered sin. Paul wrote that he wanted to know Christ in “the power of His resurrection” (Philippians 3:10 NASB). He desired to experience the indwelling resurrection power of Jesus Christ day by day.

For you, that possibility is a reality through your indivisible union with the risen Christ. That is precisely why the Christian life is a victorious one. You win not by undying struggle, but by submission to and reliance on the triumphant Spirit of God in you.

Victory is yours. It may not come instantly, but will come if you walk with Christ in His power. The Christian life can be an abundant one as you shift your focus from self-effort to the all-conquering might of Christ Jesus, within whom is your hope and your victory.
