He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. Colossians 1:13 (NKJV)

Danny Buggs was an electrifying wide receive in both the collegiate and the professional ranks. Playing for the University of West Virginia, the Washington Redskins, several World and Canadian Football League teams, and other National Football League teams, Buggs generated excitement and touchdowns galore.

But as with all althetes, Bugg’s body soon wearied, and younger, sturdier men took his place. The story does not end there, however. Buggs received Christ as his Savior along the way and now works with youths from all walks of life, sharing Christ and His love with them. While his athletic exploits are finished, the gift of eternal life he received through Christ has only begun.

So it is with all believers. We here and now enjoy the benefits of eternal life. Christ, our Life, fills us with His purpose, joy, peace, power, and patience for life’s daily struggles. We have a new, rich quality of life as heirs of God.

Death is but a doorway into the presence of God. Eternal life is yours forever, serving and living in the very presence of God. Eternal life means everything counts—here and hereafter. Nothing is meaningless; nothing is wasted; nothing is ever finished. You are always just beginning.
