Matthew 7:25-34

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

Each of us knows the pressure that comes from stressful times. Headaches, tight neck muscles, and even bouts of depression can come from too much external pressure and not enough peace within. There are those who right now are weathering a severe emotional storm. They feel forgotten, over-looked, and rejected. Others are struggling with going on after the death of a loved one. How do we find peace when all that surrounds us seems so dark and lonely?

Some who read these words are fighting feelings of guilt for struggling emotionally. After all, aren’t Christians supposed to be strong and confident? What will people think if they see you are weak and frail? For the Christian, this is the best place to be—helpless before the Lord.

Stress can drain away your strength and joy, but God has a solution. He is your peace and strength. And when you call out to Him, He answers you. He will never refuse you. The dark trials of life are not the end but a rich opportunity for Him to prove Himself to you. If you have lost a loved one, He will comfort you. If you are struggling with a long-term illness, God will be your strength. He has healing in His hands.

Let Him take your trouble and use it to draw you closer to Him, where you can find hope and eternal peace.

Father, take my trouble, and use it to draw me closer to You, where I can find hope and eternal peace.
