2 Corinthians 1:3-7

As the suffering of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:5

Have you ever wondered why God allows certain circumstances to come into your life? Most of us have, especially when trials come or we face feelings of inadequacy or fear. We look heavenward and whisper, “God, WHY did this happen? WHY am I having to face this?”

It is always better to voice your complaint to the Lord than to hide it deep within your heart. God knows your frustrations, and He will listen to what you have to say. Remember, He always deals with you in love. Even in difficult times, God is at work to bring good into your life.

He uses life’s trials to teach you how to trust and depend on him in a greater way. Times of emotional darkness are His training grounds. It is in the disappointments and misunderstandings of life that God stretches your muscles of faith.

When you hurt, He promises to comfort you. He does this so you also will learn how to comfort others struggling with similar pain. Only those who have experienced doubt, discouragement, fear, loneliness, and other emotional trials are adequately equipped to minister to others who are hurting. This is just one of the results of facing adversity. Therefore, when it comes, refuse to be drawn off course. Keep your focus on Christ, and He will guide you through troubled times victoriously.

Father, I refuse to be drawn off course by life’s trials. Help me keep my focus on You. Guide me through troubled times victoriously.
