MORAL DECLINE

The author of today’s devotional makes the comment that “In real life, a very small percentage of people want certain godless statutes installed.”

Unfortunately this is not so today. In real life, we are officially living as in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37, Luke 17:26)  where the majority of people are godless, and where Satan has influenced the church so well that people are confused about right and wrong, about holy and unholy, about what is of God and what is of the devil. When people do not know the difference between pagan beliefs and Christianity then society is godless and lost. -POR Admin-

1 Samuel 2:27-30

The Lord God of Israel says: “I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever;” but now the Lord says: “Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.” 1 Samuel 2:30

The moral decline of a nation can be traced back to its religious beliefs. Pagan societies have come and gone. Rome, at one time an invincible force, crumbled from within because of moral decay. Countless individuals with godly moral values think their opinions do not count for much. However, they are very wrong.

Gary Bauer, president of the Family Research Council, recently told how he had taken a trip to relax and “get away” from the furious pace of Washington, D.C. He traveled to Iowa where he met many citizens, all of whom had strong moral beliefs. They worked, attended church, and wanted the best for their children.

How does a nation—America or any other—become spiritually torn and tattered? It is simple; the people who are the very heart of any country’s life give up and give in to mounting pressure to compromise what they know is right. In real life, a very small percentage of people want certain godless statutes installed. Yet it a nation’s majority wavers in confusion, more than likely these issues will face little debate.

You must stand for what you believe. Be tenacious in prayer, asking God for His direction morally and spiritually. Don’t settle for compromises; say no to issues that fail to reflect God’s purity.

Father, forgive me for the times I ignore Your Word and Your principles. Help me to say no to issues that fail to reflect Your purity.
