Luke 10:1-17

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

There is power in the name of Jesus. We can see it in the lives of the seventy disciples mentioned in Luke 10:1-17. The evidence of their ministry was dramatic, but they did not have success because of their own abilities. “EVEN THE DEMONS ARE SUBJECT TO US IN YOUR NAME” was their testimony to Jesus.

It is keenly important for you to understand the significance of Christ’s name. Jest saying the name of Jesus does not make a significant difference in and of itself. A powerful change takes place when you acknowledge His lordship and sovereignty.

The seventy disciples were sold out for Christ. And because of their dedication, they experienced something that was miraculous in nature. This moving of God’s Spirit is available to you as well.

The apostle Paul proclaimed, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13 NASB). Paul made a conscious decision to lay aside his personal desires and rights in order to follow Jesus Christ. The life of Christ within him gave him the ability to meet all demands, reach all goals, and accomplish all things.

Are you aware of who is in control of your life? Or are you still clinging to the reins and hoping that somehow your human ability will make a difference? Nothing but Jesus will ever satisfy your longing, and only the name of Jesus will bring true peace and forgiveness.

Take control of my life, Lord. I want to experience true peace and forgiveness.
