Romans 8

In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

As you go about your daily routine, do you sometimes feel as though the world is winning? From the irritations and conflicts of your personal circumstances to bad news in the marketplace and the media, it’s easy to become discouraged and focused on the negative.

The victory over sin and death that Christ won on the Cross can seem remote from daily application. But the truth remains: “Whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. And who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:4-5 NASB).

You are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ (Romans 8:37. Does this mean that you will feel successful in every encounter and conflict? No. God may allow you to go through times when His truth working within you is obscured to another’s eyes. He may need to do more work in the other person’s heart before he is ready to listen. God is taking care of the consequences; your job is to trust Him for the outcome.

Ultimately the victory is yours in the Lord. In the meantime, you can cling to this promise: “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun” (Psalm 37:5-6 NIV).

Thank You, Lord, that I can trust the outcome to You. Victory is mine through You.
