John 3:14-19

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

Fighter pilots are considered some of the world’s most elite technicians. Yet the pilots repeatedly are grilled with one clear truth: Trust your instruments and gauges; ignore your feelings.

Their machines are so fast, so deft, so nimble that a human’s senses and emotions cannot keep up with them. How a pilot feels can vary not only from day to day but also from moment to moment. A slight loss of equilibrium can spell disaster.

In some ways, we are like fighter pilots, and Satan knows how vulnerable we can be. He knows how easily deceived and misled our feelings can leave us. This is where the enemy attacks. He tries to get us off balance. Satan cannot claim the soul of someone saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, so he tries to steal the believer’s effectiveness.

Constantly the deceiver is attempting to get you to focus on your feelings, and then he twists them into condemnation: “You’re not really saved; God isn’t there for you; remember that sin? These are lies, and he is the Father of them.

Jesus’ death took away your sins completely. His presence gives you hope eternally. God’s Word spells it out plainly. Let yourself take flight for God. Open the Bible and trust the greatest instrument of all.

Jesus, thank You that You have taken my sins away completely. Thank You for Your presence that gives me eternal hope.
