Matthew 7:24-27

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7

Some of God’s blessings are ones you receive over time as you build your life on the truth of His Word. For example, after years of obeying Him in the area of prayer, you have a richness of relationship with Him that could not be built any other way.

Many people have difficulty understanding the principle of reaping what they sow (Galatians 6:7), but it is definitely in operation, even if the consequences don’t show up for a long time. That’s why Jesus talked about building your life on the basis of His truth: “Every one who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock; and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall; for it had been founded upon the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25 NASB).

From the outside, you can’t necessarily determine what kind of foundation a house has. Yet as the years pass, the strength of the house reveals its true foundation. The house constructed on the sure beams of God’s truth can weather any storm or trial and remain standing.

The same is true of your life. Your foundation may not be evident to all today. Yet eventually the results of trusting God will be evident to others, a powerful testimony of the blessing of believing what He says.

Lord, let the results of my trusting You be evident to others. Lord, make me a powerful testimony of the blessing of believing what You say.
